The Riverland Paddling Marathon Applies for an Aquatic Activity License issued by the DIT Recreational Boating Unit for River Closure for sections of the Murray River over the June Long Weekend, which is a rolling closure of sections of the River to Power craft for the duration of the Paddling Event.
The Sections of the river that the Aquatic Activity License covers are:
6th June 2026 – Saturday – Loxton to Moorook
7th June 2026 – Sunday – Devlins Pound to Waikerie
8th June 2026 – Monday – Caudo (Hogwash Bend) to Morgan
During the times of the River Closure all vessels not participating in the Riverland Paddling Marathon are required to obey the directive as set out in the Aquatic Activity License.
The license provision for all non-participant vessels is for an access corridor on the starboard side of the river and a maximum speed of 4 knots (no wash).
